Whole House Water Filters for City & Well Water

Your family deserves clean and healthy water, free of harmful contaminants, unpleasant tastes and odors, and cloudy debris. However, you also shouldn’t have to struggle with frequent refills and filter changes, or spend a fortune equipping every faucet in your home with a separate water filter. A whole house water filter from Angel Water will deliver safe and pleasant water at every fixture throughout your home with one affordable device.

Read on to learn what benefits whole house filters provide, as well as what sets Angel Water’s systems apart.

What Will a Whole House Water Filter Do For Me?

There are many different contaminants that can potentially enter your water supply from many different sources. Some are naturally-occurring, including minerals such as manganese. Others come from human activities, like lead from coal-fired power stations. Municipal water treatment plants use chlorine as a disinfectant to remove some of these contaminants, but others may remain.

As a result, you might respond by buying a filter for your drinking water. Problem solved, right? Unfortunately, drinking water is only one piece of the puzzle.

Chlorine’s unpleasant smell and taste are intensified when it’s heated, and it absorbs into your food if you cook with unfiltered water. This means your pasta, soup, coffee, tea, and other foods and beverages won’t quite taste right. Chlorine can also absorb into your skin and hair when you bathe, leading to dry, itchy skin and faded, brittle hair. Asthmatics and people with allergies can even have their conditions aggravated by breathing in chlorine vapors while showering.

Additional issues could include iron and iron bacteria, which can leave rust stains on your laundry and in your sinks, toilets, and tub. Other contaminants can cause stains and suspended particles in your water as well.

To deal with all of these potential issues at once, a point-of-use water treatment system won’t cut it. Only a whole house water filter will eliminate unwanted substances at every fixture and provide bottled-quality water throughout your home.

Angel Water’s whole house filters are point-of-entry systems which provide the following benefits:

  • Make drinking water safer and cleaner by removing contaminants such as lead, mercury, arsenic, radon, chlorine, and VOCs depending on your needs.
  • Use a bacteriostatic agent to prevent bacterial growth.
  • Deliver fresh, clean water to every tap.
  • Produce better-tasting beverages and foods.
  • Ensure smoother, shinier hair and softer skin.
  • Require fewer filter changes and refills compared to using multiple point-of-use filters.

If you’re ready to enjoy high-quality water in all your daily activities from cooking, to bathing, to cleaning, to simply drinking a glass from the tap, a whole house filter is the way to go.

Angel Water Is Your Source for Superior Whole House Filters

When it comes to whole house water filters, Angel Water is your go-to expert for installing and servicing high-quality systems suited to your needs.

So, what makes our water filtration systems better than others?

Our filtration components use superior carbon materials, so they remove contaminants more effectively. Recent innovations in water filter design also allow some systems to monitor water usage and adjust accordingly, which dramatically impacts the long-term efficiency and cost of ownership. In addition, many of Angel Water’s water treatment systems are NSF-certified, meaning they’ve been extensively tested and shown to meet rigorous industry standards.

The qualified professionals at Angel Water will first test your water to see what contaminants need to be removed. Then we’ll work with you to determine which home water filtration system is the right fit, whether it’s a PurAclear ETF-2300 for city water, a PurAclear Chlorine Injection and Whole House Filtration System for well water, or a PurAclear ERR-3702 Softener and Filter to eliminate hard water and kill two birds with one stone.

Why You Should Consider Filtering Your Water

The chlorine found in most tap water can leave behind an unpleasant taste and smell. You could buy bottled water, but Angel Water carbon filters improve your water for a fraction of the cost. They deliver the fresh taste and smell you want from your drinking water with very little maintenance and a lower impact on the environment.

The smell and taste of chlorine in water intensifies when it’s heated and chlorine is absorbed into your foods when you cook with unfiltered water. If you want optimal tasting coffee, tea, pasta and sauces, you should rely on a carbon-based filtration system.

In the same way food absorbs chlorine, our hair and skin take in chlorine when we bathe and shower. This leads to dry, itchy skin and brittle, faded hair.  Using a carbon filter is a natural way to keep your hair and skin looking their best. You’ll require less conditioner and lotion and still have a silky soft complexion and smooth, manageable hair.

What is a whole house water filtration system?

A whole house water filtration system, also known as a “point of entry filter system” is an appliance that connects to the main water supply of your home or business. All of the water you use in your day to day activities, whether for drinking, cooking, washing, or bathing, will pass through the filtration system. One of the major conveniences of this type of system is that it eliminates the need to install individual point of use filters on each faucet. No more refilling those cheap plastic filtration pitchers or struggling with heavy (and wasteful) bottled water!

Are there different types of whole house filtration systems?

Yes there are! Although the most popular whole house filter systems are activated carbon filters, not all filters are created equal! Some filters make use of superior carbon materials and in recent years, automated water use monitoring has had a dramatic impact on the efficiency of whole house filters.

Different filters have different specifications and it’s important to look for certified water filtration equipment that meets the particular needs of your family while removing contaminants!

What does a whole house water filter get rid of?

Depending on the configuration you decide on, a filtration system can remove a wide range of contaminants that may threaten the health of your family. Some of the more common contaminants people want to filter are Radon, Arsenic, Chlorine, Lead, Mercury and VOC’s.

Coupled with a Reverse Osmosis System you can be sure that you have the cleanest water possible!

Are there any other advantages?

One of the most important advantages is the removal of chlorine from your water. This is particularly helpful for asthmatics and people who suffer from allergies because it means no more breathing in those harsh chlorine vapors while you shower. A whole house filter will also remove iron from the water which prevents rust stains in your toilet, tub and sink. The combination of removing iron and chlorine will protect your clothes from undue wear and tear in the laundry and filtered water protects your family from exposure to lots of other contaminants, whether they are in your water now or seep into your water in the future.

Who needs one?

Whether or not you need a water filter depends on the quality of your local water supply. The Environmental Working Group provides a searchable database which ranks municipalities around the U.S. on the quality of the water
they provide. (For homes and businesses on private wells, the Environmental Protection Agency offers guidelines for well water safety.) In areas with lots of industry and/or agriculture like Chicago and its suburbs, we often see many strange chenicals that we woud want to sheild our families from. You can have your water tested to find out exactly which contaminants are coming into your home and in what quantities.

Poor water quality can have an outsized impact on the young, the elderly, pregnant women, and people who are ill or dealing with a compromised immune system.

How much does a whole house water filtration system cost?

We offer a wide range of whole house water filtration solutions and a whole range of prices to go with them. Our most popular models run between $2,000 and $5,000 installed, but we have lower priced models for low water use and very specific, limited contamination issues as well as higher priced systems that will handle high volume residential or commercial water use and filter a complete range of contaminants so that you never have to worry about the quality of the water in your pipes!

Once your whole house filtration system is installed, maintenance tends be minimal, involving only annual maintenance and the occasional replacement of the filtering media.

How long does installation of a whole house water filter take?

Professional installation of a whole house water filtration system involves minimal inconvenience to you and your family. It normally is completed within an hour or two, and our courteous licensed plumbers are trained to treat your home with the care and attention to detail that it deserves!

Great System, Quick install

I have had my system for about 3 weeks now and it was easy to have installed, and has work great since it was installed. I have enjoyed it so much, that I purchased the under-sink drinking water system too. It was very simple to install. Now I not only have very clean water, but water that tastes good.

American Made - Don't Cheap out on Health!

We bought this a month ago after being quoted so many different times.. we don’t want cheap, Chinese made crap! When will you other companies learn to keep our economy strong with American made. Be cheap with your health we love that we’re drinking the healtiest water in Crystal Lake!!! Our savings were still amazing but not as amazing as our new system that made our funky water the best water ever. I cant speak to longevity as of yet but 2 months after Angel installed, we are extremely pleased!!!
